From the Squared Network: digital content round-up

Here’s some of the most interesting stuff our students have been reading, watching and sharing from across the Squared Network this month.

The rise of the sharing economy

Laura found this article from The Times that explores the growth and global adoption rates of the Sharing Economy.

‘The UK is the European capital of the sharing economy, accounting for one-in-10 of the world’s companies in this new digital sector, more than Europe’s next three most prolific hubs – France, Spain and Germany – combined.’

Adblocking demographics

Ed shared this report that shows the impact and use of Adblockers on key demographics for marketers.

‘Study by Sourcepoint and comScore shows younger audiences are more likely to use ad blockers and usage is typically highest among the highest income segments.’

Milena found this case study which shows how geo-marketing testing with Google, Mobile network EE was able to research its customers path to purchase and found that for every 1 online sale driven through search, it drove an additional 2.6 offline in-store sales.’

‘Proving the link between online ads and offline sales is the holy grail of digital marketing.’

Social Media Image Sizes

Barbara shared this very handy guide to social media image sizes: never again will you have misshapen or stretched images!

‘In this quick-scroll world of social media, the visual face of your brand is often times the first thing your audience sees and it might be the one thing they remember. You can’t cut and paste an image and reuse it across all of your social networks — each one has different and constantly-evolving guidelines for images..’

The momentum of mobile

Rosie found a useful infographic, which demonstrates how a coherent mobile strategy is absolutely vital for success.

‘Your customers have you in the palm of their hands” says this new infographic from Dynatrace, which takes a look at the importance of the omnichannel customer experience.’

Netflix VR

The Squared Team’s contribution is the announcement that Netflix are creating a Virtual Living room to enjoy their services. Start preparing your Virtual Reality marketing strategies!

‘The big news is that Netflix, the ubiquitous streaming platform, will launch on Oculus Connect 2 immediately. ‘
